- The 2015-16 vaccine contains the following virus strains:
- A/California/7/2009 (H1N1)pdm09-like strain
- A/Switzerland/9715293/2013 (H3N2)-like virus
- B/Phuket/3073/2013-like virus
- B/Brisbane/60/2008
Who?
- ALL Children (from 6 months to 6 years);
- ALL persons aged above 50 years;
- High risk persons (chronic diseases);
- Individuals at high risk work places
- (children in day care, child care personnel, Institutional workers, doctors, teachers etc.);
- Pregnant women;
- Anyone who wants to reduce the chance of contracting Influenza
To provide maximum protection, include ALL FAMILY MEMBERS.
When?
NOW, before year end preferably.
How many doses?
1. Adults and children 9 years or older - 1 dose every year
2. Children under 9 years - First time: 2 doses spaced 1 month apart;
subsequently, every year
How is it given ?
Injecting into the muscle (Fluarix-tetra, FluQuadri or FluQuadri-Peadi)
It is suitable for children age from six months onwards. There are 3 injectable vaccines available at our clinic. None of these vaccines contain thimerosal.
Side effects?
- Pain and swelling of the injection site
- Mild flu-like symptoms (fever, runny nose and tiredness)
- Allergic reactions : rare
